Subject: Radio tests with Truxton/ZMW3006

Confirming radio test with vessel Truxton/ZMW3006 located in Islington Bay,

at 141215 nzdt Nov 15 with Taupo Maritime Radio/ZLM on 4125 and 4146 kHz,

and another test via VHF to Auckland Maritime Radio on CH16.

The call on 4125 kHz was weak to medium, 4146 kHz was medium, and loud and clear on CH16.

Although I say weak to medium on 4125, considering it was the middle of the day from

a confined location, i.e. shielded by land from Rangitoto and Motutapu Island, this was quite

a good result.

What is needed for the documentation for the qualification voyage?

As per NOR

3.7 Each entered boat must have completed a qualifying race or cruise of not less than 250 nm on open water with the prospective skipper in charge.

Evidence can be:
Results from a yacht race you have completed – for example the 2014 Round North Island
Or a description of the journey

Between XX and XX the vessel XX completed a 250 nm passage with XX as the skipper. The course sailed was ( for example   Auckland to Mardsen Cove as part of the Route 66 race, (then after dropping crew  at marsden cove – or whatever), we continued immediately to XX, returning to Auckland XX time).

PLUS a log of the trip, which could be a GPS log or the course plotted on a chart.

Where do I get the first aid kit from?

Understanding the First Aid requirements

I’m an international boat. Do I still need Yachting New Zealand Category 1 to be eligible for ANZ Sail Fiji?
